Tired of swatches that mislead you? Can you achieve either stitch gauge or row gauge, but not both? We'll unpack some of the mysteries of gauge and look at best practices when knitting and measuring a swatch so your swatches will be as accurate and informative as possible.
To begin we'll all knit the exact same swatch using the same yarn and needles so we can see how individual knitting styles affect gauge. From there we look at how various stitch patterns affect gauge and flat gauge versus round gauge.
The registration fee includes one skein of Nature Spun Worsted in Aran and a US 6 (4 mm) Knitter's Pride Bamboo needle. Students are required to use this yarn in this color, and this needle for the class. Homework before the class is required and will be emailed to participants at registration.
Cost: $46.25 (includes supplies)
