It's all happening so fast! Now that we've hit the second week of September, what once seemed theoretical and off in the distance is suddenly much more immediate. This move is coming soon!
After all your messages and well-wishes — thank you for those! — the number one question is, of course, when will you open at 2040 St. Clair? Your excitement about our new space is thrilling to us. While we don't have a date for you, here's a rundown of what's happening right now.
- We're spending the early part of this week fulfilling orders from your overwhelming response to our moving sale. That's going to take us much of this week.
- At the same time, some fixtures from Selby Ave need to head to St. Clair so that work can continue there. We're just going to embrace the chaos.
- Over at the new shop, so much has happened in the past week. The contractors have almost completely finished their work, and in a matter of hours last Tuesday, it suddenly looked like an empty storefront rather than a construction site.
- Some of the first fittings have gone in: custom shelving (so cool), the beginnings of the cash wrap, and our signature pegboard is going up. Here's a fun fact: at Selby Ave we have the equivalent of about 9.5 pegboards. At the new spot? 26!
We will spend the next week with limited hours on Selby while we make progress at St Clair. Then early next week we will evaluate where we are, and make more informed decisions about what the end of September looks like. We're still — fingers crossed — on schedule for an early October opening. In the meantime, we'll fulfill online orders promptly, and we'll keep you in the loop online and via social media about our open hours.
