$65 registration fee
Registration for this workshop includes all materials (including 1 skein of Organicon by Scheepjes, and cyanotype materials — enough for the class and more to take home for further exploration).

Note: If the class is canceled due to rain, it will automatically be rescheduled for the rain date noted above. We will not issue refunds if that move is made, so please make sure you are available for both the class date AND the rain date before registering.

Sunprint your knits! Crocheters, too! Harness the power of the sun to create amazing Prussian blue images right on your fabric. You’ll leave this workshop knowing the history of cyanotypes and you’ll take home your very own cyanotyped swatches. We’ll start by creating cyanotypes on paper, moving on to making prints on knit or crocheted cotton swatches (knit/crochet your swatches using Organicon prior to the workshop).

Before Class Begins
Plan on coming by the shop well before May 19 to pick up your yarn and swatching instructions. You’ll need to have your swatches completed before the workshop. Easy, we promise!

The materials necessary for the cyanotype process will be supplied. What should you  bring on workshop day? Bring your completed swatches, and some objects to place on your paper and fabric. Choose objects that are relatively opaque and flat to create your images. Examples: jewelry, dried leaves and flowers, paper cutouts, shaped wire, rocks, paperclips, charms, bubble wrap, mesh vegetable bags, sharpie drawings on plastic sheets, and yarn. You are limited only by your imagination!

No experience necessary — though you need enough knit or crochet experience to complete a simple swatch.

Registration for a class indicates you have read and agree to the class policies.
