Registration for this workshop includes embroidery kit with hoop.

This class is an innovative way to learn 12 favorite embroidery stitches, while at the same time focusing on color theory. You'll learn how to use a color wheel to lead and inspire design ideas. Discussion will also include information about color personalities — so fun! Each student will design a color wheel embroidery sampler made with an embroidery hoop to keep for your studio or embroidery library.

Denise DeGidio lives in Northwestern Wisconsin and holds a Master of Visual Arts Degree in Fiber Art. Denise has been working with fiber for over 25 years – in particular clothing, textile, knitwear, natural dyes, and surface design, and has traveled around the country and internationally studying this medium. Denise has been a fibers instructor in higher education as well as teaching independent classes and workshops around the Midwest. She appreciates using traditional craft and techniques to stay connected with how these methods and materials have been used over time by various cultures. Nature often inspires her work as it surrounds her daily, and Denise incorporates the elements of art and principles of design to bring inspirations to life. You can see more of Denise’s work @metalandwool on Instagram and a course archive and portfolio on her website: metalandwool.com
