A unique opportunity from Kokon Bleu, using their gorgeous blues for a most special project. The Porcelaine Shawl is an homage to Delft Blue, pieced together like broken shards of pottery might be repaired. The shawl pattern will include a series of individual pieces featuring a variety of knitting techniques, stitched together and backed with a lovely piece of block-printed fabric. A clasp is also included to complete the shawl.
Delft Blue is a centuries-old art form that began in the city of Delft, the Netherlands. Inspired by imported Chinese porcelain, Dutch artisans reimagined it in their own unique way — hand painting each piece with cobalt blue pigments on white earthenware.
The Porcelaine Shawl Kit includes:
• 5 skeins merino/linen fingering-weight yarn, hand-dyed by Kokon Bleu in colors unique to the kit.
• Charted printed pattern exclusive to the kit, not available elsewhere. Digital access also provided.
• 70 x 70 cm square block-printed soft fabric to the line the back of your shawl.
• Jewel-like clasp to hold the points of your shawl together at the front.
