Colorwork is especially gratifying to learn — seems like magic, but it's really just an easy-to-learn skill. The Mackubin Hat is a modern, graphic take on stranded colorwork.  The pattern includes four sizes — child to adult large. Amble mini-skeins make a fun project, and a soft, squishy hat.

While this is as an introductory colorwork class, you should already know how to read a pattern, cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and knit in the round before registering for this class. Experience with smaller needles and fingering-weight yarn is particularly helpful if you have no previous colorwork experience.

Materials Needed
Mackubin Hat pattern by Mary Lou Egan
Amble by The Fibre Co: 1 25-gram mini skein each of 4 colors
US 2 (2.75 mm) 16" circular needleand
US 4 (3.5 mm) 16" circular needle, and

You may also use long circular needles if using the Magic Loop method of circular knitting. Magic Loop will not be part of the instruction in this class.
