It happens to the best of us. One minute you're knitting along happily, the next you look down and see something that doesn’t look quite right. Don't panic! Problems happen to everyone, and are relatively easy to fix — with a few tricks and a little patience. This class will help you take a deep breath, identify the problem, and learn how to fix it.
Skills We'll Cover
• Dropping down to fix a stitch
• Turning knits into purls (and vice versa)
• Picking up dropped stitches in garter, stockinette, and other stitch patterns
• Picking up a dropped edge stitch
• Ripping out rows
• Placing a lifeline
• Fixing a split stitch
• Preventing and fixing twisted stitches
• Fixing a twist in circular knitting after joining
• Duplicate stitch to the rescue
Materials Needed
• Light colored, smooth worsted weight yarn
• US 7 or US 8 knitting needles
• Locking stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Crochet or repair hook
Before Class
With yarn and needle listed above, cast on 24 sts and knit approx. 2"–3" in stockinette st (knitting right side rows, purling wrong side rows). Leave stitches on needle and bring swatch to class.
Please purchase materials ahead of time and bring them with you to the workshop. Registration for a class indicates you have read and agree to the class policies.
