Registration for this workshop includes yarn; needles or hook to be brought by student.
It's the workshop you've asked for! Demystifying yarn — how its made, the fiber content, its weight — is essential to being a more confident knitter. We all know that choosing the right yarn for any project can be critical, but with so many options, the choice isn't always clear. This workshop examines what makes one yarn behave differently from the next. We'll knit a sample in multiple yarns to learn about different fiber types and treatment, spinning styles, ply structure, grist, and more.
Yarn to learn and swatch with provided at class. Yarns will include: Lanas, Ultra Wool, Ultra Alpaca, Rios, Highland, Woolstock, Lamb's Pride, Får, Pima 100, Remix.
Materials Needed
Please bring knitting needles suitable for worsted weight yarn (US 7–8)
